My name is . . .

After I had experimental on fabric and thread, I saw the thread that I remove it out of my name . . .

I feel interested in it.
So I try to experimental about this by the other ways.
"Rope" is the material that i choose. Because it come from many little rope to be the big one so I think it's like mt life that have many thing inside to be me.
In my life, I ever changed my name before so I divided the rope to 3 part for
- when I was Mayuree (มยุรี),
- when I changing name
- when I'm Benjawan
I experiment it with water color.
When I was Mayuree, I like purple but now I love yellow so I represent it into both side of the rope. And then I draw it on the paper . . .

And then all Aj. told that the old one (the experiment of fabric and thread) is more interesting and I should go deeply in that way so now I on the way back to the "Mayuree". . .

My name is . . .

From my story that I have to changed my name from Mayuree (มยุรี) to Benjawan (เบญจวรรณ)  by the fortune teller. I try to play with material at that time so I play with the name that everyone have to embroider on the school shirt.

* Outside and inside school shirt. It look different and I try to combine it by reflect ways.

  I very interested in shape of the thread that I removed.

* Then I look back to the movement of sewing machine and I try to copy the ways that sewing machine did.

   I stab the needle on fabric again and again. . .

* Finally I got "Nothing" but it's didn't mean nothing. On the fabric don't have any trace that make me interested in the  

  structure of the fabric too.

* And now I try to do more experimental to capture my feeling at that time. . . .

I interested in this point because I think it's similar and opposite ways at the same time. I mean it's the same activity that you do on fabric but it give the opposite result.
+ One use machine, another one only hand can do.
+ The outside and inside of school shirt. Outside always neat because everyone can see but inside opposite at all.
+ The people that know me just "Benjawan" don't know me when "Mayuree"
    on the other hand
+ The people that know me when "Mayuree" and don't know that I had changed name to "Benjawan"

From last week, we try to find many thing that can relate to 24 July 2003. From my personal thing, I found my happy birthday letter from my sister that go to study in Australia in 2003 and it’s address to Mayuree so it remind me that I had changed my name from Mayuree to Benjawan. Because my family invited one Sinsae (Chinese fortune taller) to ask many question that they want to know. The sinsae told many thing about my family and also my sister, he told that my sister and his boyfriend not soul mate and cannot live together that made my sister feel bad too but now she get married already with her boyfriend and have one little son already ☺. Ok! Back to changing my name, for me I think my life when I was Mayuree, it’s not bad at all. I’m a good girl and get the grade 3.83 in that time, it’s the best score in my life. But the sinsae told that this name was very bad and I’ll became a bad girl if I still go on with that name. I have a question that why I have to changed my name as someone said ? I ask my mom, and she told that “Just change your name, it’s didn’t have the adverse, Right ?”
    At that time, it’s make me know that “something cannot prove at all but we believe it already”

From my friend personal stuff, she found her diary on 18/8/03. She wrote about “Big D2B”, the very famous superstar at that time. He got an accident on 22 July 2003 that made most people feel blue and try to find the ways that may be can help Big get better too. They try to origami the bird, the Japanese belief that if you fold 1000 of crane you will get well from sick. Because it’s the only thing they can do for the one that they love. 

Finally Big’s father told that he decide to change Big’s name from Apichet to Panrawat (Who alive by the request) because mysticism, Big was born on Thursday and the first letter “A” is not good for him.
Even through many thing that they do cannot help Big but I believe that it can heal of their mind very much.

*The story of Sadako
Sadako Sasaki died of Leukemia at the age of 12 as a result of radiation from the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Before dying, Sadako folded over 1000 paper cranes after hearing the Japanese legend that folding 1000 cranes would cause the gods would grant her a wish. Today school children all over Japan (not to mention the world) continue to fold paper cranes and send them to her monument in a universal wish for peace.

This picture, Japanese school children dedicate a collection of paper origami cranes they are delivering to the memorial for Sadako Sasaki in Hiroshima Peace Park. The crane is also an Asian symbol of longevity.

from communication design program.

For me It's  hard  to say that which one is ¬the best. Because each work have own meaning and concept in themselves. Moreover It also represent about who designer too.
The one that I like the most is “C’est La Vie” of Dusita Warapongsittikul.
At first when I saw this work, It’s not catch my eyes at all because it’s just many shoes arranged on the shelf. But when I look at it very close, I found something that make me stuck with this work. I found the fact of life and it’s not just shoes anymore, it’s represent of “ Human-Being ”. For me, I really the shoes meaning because it’s not just protect feet but it can be a medium to say many things. Another material that designer choose to
represent about the period of life is “Receipt”, it can be the evidence of purchasing. Every shoes covered with difference receipts to say about “human life span”

In this work the designer divided life into 8 period :  baby, child, tween, teenager, worker, middle-aged, senior citizen and dead body. For the baby period, it’s just white paper covered the shoes and the next step of life, she choose tickets of the bus to covered the shoes. The difference receipt can shoes how life go on. And the most period that catch my mind is  when life go into the senior citizen represent by the receipts in hospital and after that we became to the body of dead with the shoe of funeral ceremony.

Week 2 : Past ,, 24 July 2003 ...

Week 2

We still go deeply in the word “Past”. From last week, we try to get something that may be we lost in the memory back. I think all of us have many story that we leave behind but it depend on something  or somewhere in dairy life will waken the deep feeling in mind to make you recall them again.  We call some story that we can bring it back from the past by stimulator as “Gray space”, because it’s not black and not all white, didn’t think about it everyday but it doesn’t mean you forgot it too. So we try to find the stimulator for get something back from the past and we have the answer that each people will not have the same stimulator, it depend on their family, friends, or anything that happen in their life.

This is some of the picture that we think it can bring the memory or make the imagination in our mind.

Exploring the past

 "Exploring the past in 24 July 2003" . . .my first question is why 24 July 2003 ? why not 7 or 4 ???

Our group start the point at that date, we found many thing happens and we think it's too wide for the information but too narrow for the thinking. Because we just focus on "24 July 2003" and don't think about another things that happen on another date, it may be have something related to the things that we lost. 

So we back to ask about "The Past" ,everything that past already but I believe that all of it still in the memory but when the time past and many new thing also come to our life, it's normally that we'll forgot something that it ever happen in our life.

We made the worksheet as the circle form as the past and put the memories inside like a subset because we think that all memories are the part of our life.

Lecture design week 1 of nat1

* Making a shape can be block the thinking, so let's it go by itself and then try to connect it together.

* Don't separate anything like black and white or good and bad because everything have a gray space 
           - The important thing is "between memories and reality"
* Anything can change by the time. Nothing is the best forever.

* Try to find the thing that may be we lost in the memory.
