05: Urban

One point that very interesting in my project is about "SHOES" That woman can not live without.
From my observation around Siam Square make me in

Then I think about my story that I HAVE TO changed my name when I was a student.
At that time I always wear the student shoes like these…

But now. . . no more student shoes. . .

I changed to the fashion shoes, even through it make my foot hurt so much.
Then I think it can connected to my past story.

The shoe             vs          My name
so
Student shoes     vs          Mayuree
Fashion shoes    vs Benjawan

So now I try to start modify on the student shoes or maybe my old shoe first
until it become the fashion shoe to see the changing of them.

Because I don't want to leave the stab feeling from all of my work before
so I try to represent that feeling by nail onto the shoe.
To show that beautiful thing or something that u think it's good maybe have painful behind.

And now I try to mix many many way to modify it better than this . . .

04: Urban

From all of my ideas, the most idea that link to my past project is

"The new thing build replace of the old thing

I got this idea from the space that was Center point before

but now it is The digital gateway already.

The relating point of this idea is "Rebranding"

I think it's very interesting point because

when I walk around Siam Square

I saw almost brands has rebranding for attune themselves with Siam Square.

For example "Toyota"

It's the brand of car but you can see the Toyota building at Siam Square.

It's doesn't look like the Toyota building at another place.

This make me interested.

The Toyota building at Siam Square or we can call

"The Style by Toyota"

It's a Hi-Tech Edutainment Center & intelligent building.

The teenager always meeting there.

Inside the building has many edutainment thing for entertain & give the knowledge.

That is no need in the car brand building.

I think this rebranding way is very effective in Siam Square.

Then I ask the people who go to Siam Square that

When they go to Siam Square do they have the definite shop that they really want to go ?

Then almost people that I ask answer me that

They don't know where they want to go yet but they make a meeting here

because It's Siam Square

"The name of canter of everything that teenager want"

And then I interested in The word "Siam Square"

Now I think that Siam Square is the determination of the brand around,

Make them have to rebranding themselves.

While the teenager who go there didn't think about it.

They just go there because there is Siam Square.

So I try to do something with Siam Square...

I remove the brand around there and change it to "SIAM" brand . . .

03 : Urban

First Idea is about "The distorting font around Siam Square"

From my last project I interested in only the space that was distorted and I ignored the little part that was
throw away



But for this project, I found a lot of distort font around the site (Siam Square)
and I wonder where is the part that I haven't seen, the part that removed or destroyed by someone.
So I think about the unwanted part around Siam Square.
I try to collect and explore with that material because I want to know that
the unwanted thing around there can show the identity of that place or not.

Second idea
The most people go to Siam Square for shopping or find the new thing that they want.
For example Shoes, Cloths, hairpiece, etc. for make the people look good or look better.

People always move themselves to the point that they think it's better.
(BUT you can just think, "it'll good. .yess s ....good .... yes... maybe good."
You will not know the exactly thing that when you buy it, it'll make you looking good like you think or not. )

The same as me =='' that move from "Mayuree" to "Benjawan"
The point that make everyone agree me to changed name is "They think about the BETTER thing" too

So now I interested in the attractive of Siam Square and the fortune teller.


* And another point that I interested in the is thing that people want from Siam Square.
  It's like a case that covering the body or may be soul inside from other touching.

Third idea is about the feeling of people when they go to Siam Square and go to see the fortune teller.
So I think about the feeling step by step and I found that both of them have the same loop of feeling.
Then I try to visualize it by drawing a line follow my feeling. . .

If you divide it into 3 parts,
The first part is my visualizing of the feeling - Before go to see something interesting at Siam
   - Before your turn comes to see the fortune teller

The second part is my visualizing of the feeling - When you found something that you want or interested
   - When your turn comes

The third part is my visualizing of the feeling - When you move from the thing that you interesting even buy it or not
   - When you finish to talk with the fortune teller.

First is like feel - jumble because many people or story etc.
and then - focus on something
finally - distracted from the thing that you just interested or the speech of fortune teller

And now I try to capture each feeling to get something more : )

**** Siam Square is the place that people go to show their identity.
So everything that we found there can show the identity too
First is Font around there : each style of font will used for different style of work.

****And another point that make me interested is
the connection between "Siam" and "the Fortune teller"
For me I think both of them are very similar in term of "Believe"
People go to talk with the fortune teller for ask about their better life.
Same as the people who go to shopping at Siam Square for find the better thing for themselves.

* people always want the new things.
* the old thing and the used thing.
* the bound between old thing and the owner.

For me,
I go to Siam, I got the new things
I go to see the fortune teller, I got the new name.

This project is about the urban. It changed from last work at BKT.

So everything around there and BKT are not the same.

***From my old work, it's about destroy, resist or remove something by feeling

and I found the trace of paper like this stick in all around Siam Square.

When I saw it, I feel like it has some feeling behind . . .

or may be it's nothing.

I found a lot of wall like this around Siam-Square. Most of them look very "messy".

For some of them I can't know that what is the information on the paper before it become like this.

* The connection is the ways to destroy or remove something out of that area.

***From the carve word "Missing" on the tree at BKT. I found many Expression like this around Siam Square.

The actor may be have something in there mind.

May be they want to show the feeling inside or show off the power that they think they have.

From the picture are people who walk around Siam, tree, building, and car at Siam Squa

**** Siam Square, For me is the place of adding thing

- more decoration,

more cost,

more money,

more fashion. . .

For they can call this place to be the civilization as they think

**** Most of the font aroun Siam that I found has been distorted,

Like my name on the school shirt, when I have to remove the old name.

So when the form changing the meaning of it will changed too.

05 : BKT

From all of my experimental,
I'm very interested in

- The carve word on the tree, it's like a destroying something make shape of that thing change.

- The water splash of boat. It's remind me to my feeling when the fortuneteller said about my old name. His speech was very sarcastically.

I think about the connection of them.
Then I think, both point are the step of each other. Because the sharp shape of water splash can make trace on other thing. And then more and more and more trace will make a strong trace like destroying that thing like the face picture that I draw by toothpicks, finally it be ragged especially "mouth".

* Now I'm experimental about this point, and I will upload more soon.

- It's remind me to the feeling when fortuneteller said about my life.
So I try to visualize my feeling by . . .

- Then I use many toothpicks to be the tool for draw fortune teller face.

**** Different view point, Different view.
When I look around BKT from 7 floor studio. The tree around there just like green stripe.
But when I start walking to survey BKT that tree has change. It has more detail.

*This are something I interested in and I'll experiment more & more : )

From the first interesting point

* The carve word "Miss" (คิดถึง) on the tree.
      I interested in "carve" that link to my last work when I want to remove my name on shirt.
      So I try to experiment to remove the thing more and more.

- I interested in form when I try to remove it and it can express feeling by itself.

** The machinery of boat

The boat have a motor at stern that connect to the pipe for make the boat move.

Then I think about the fortune teller.

So I try to visualize by my memory and imagination. . .

02 : BKT "Hua-Pha Community"

After I present my work to Aj., it make me know something more :)
The material that we picked or the sketch picture on our sketch book,
it should make remind me to last project not just the physical ways.
(Ex.It not just the shape of material looks like shape of the last work.)

From many thing that I picked,

* The sound of boat
   When I heard it, it's can remind me to the sewing machine. It's has a sound like that.
   (it's not like a song but like a sound that repeat by the same rhythm)
   I visualize the sound immediately on my sketch book
   and it looks like this . . .

When the boat have a sound, it make the wave
and when the sewing machine have sound that mean it have some thread on the fabric too
(Both of them make a trace but one for a while.)

*The plant
May be too imagination. But when I saw it,
I really think about my life at that time (When I have to change my name)

- The yellow one, not die yet but nearly to die soon
make me think about the name Mayuree that not disappear immediately.
Mayuree'll alive by the the people, who know her. But when time pass, the people come to my life more
know Benjawan more, Benjawan'll grow up and grow up like the green one
and Mayuree 'll be lost by the time . . . .

And now I'll look at my feeling at time more to find some connecting with the material that I found : )

My name is . . .

* In the sewing method to sew alphabet, it's the same step which writing that is start at head and finish at tail end.
But when remove, it has to start at the end point !!!
* so I sew the thread from the end of "Mayuree" (มยุรี) ---> ( -ี ) to the start point of "Benjawan" (เบญจวรรณ) --->( เ- )
every alphabet.

*At first I did it on in the glass because I want to see how it look like in 3 dimension.

*Then I saw it and I think the glass doesn't mean any to me so I changed to do it again on the fabric, may be get different feeling . . .

* Yeahhh h, It gave me different feeling because fabric
is a free form, not the same as glass
* more confusing feeling not neat like in the glass.

* And how about 2 dimension?
So I did it on the same piece of fabric. . .

* I zoom into fabric for more detail,

the structure made me think about plastic canvas.
* So I did it again on the plastic canvas for bigger scale
than on fabric

* Then I try to think about the relation of 2 name . . .
"Remove the old and Rebuild the new"

* What is the connecting point ???
One person that very powerful of this memory is the "fortuneteller"
So I try to drew his face in my memory on the fabric may be it seem funny but I just want to try. . .
Something that made me interested in is The free shape of fabric
that can made the strange-looking of fortuneteller face ;p
